Hi everyone! I am back with another gifting post for this upcoming Valentine’s day, and this time around, I’m focusing on some gifts that are more personal and special, whether it’s just spending quality time with your significant other, or making something that can be cherished for years to come, I believe it’s so important to exchange heartfelt moments and gifts with the one you love when you can. I had a ton of fun searching for unique, sweet gifts on my last post, but today is all about the homemade, special things that you can do for your significant other this Valentine’s day. Keep scrolling for a list of my five heartfelt Valentine’s day gift ideas, and let me know what gifts you’ve received in the past that really stood out to you in the comments! Thanks so much for reading!
I will never not love baking. I love that you can put time and creativity into such savory, sugary treats. I especially love cupcakes, and enjoy making them the most! There is really nothing better than being able to brighten someone’s day with homemade goodies, and they are so perfect for spreading the love this Valentine’s day. I made these Peanut Butter Oreo Cupcakes when Seth and I celebrated six months together, and he loved them! The recipe was originally to make baked donuts, but I tweaked a few things and it made for some delicious cupcakes! I don’t know of anyone who would turn down homemade treats- the perfect gift!
Make Your Own Pizzas
I guess you can see by now that the gift of food is a no brainer for me 😉 Sharing a meal with your favorite person and talking about your day is something special and intimate. I suggest having a homemade pizza night and creating a custom pizza with ingredients you both love. If you have different tastes, make mini pizzas. Seth and I did this a while back and they turned out so yummy! Creating something delicious and then sharing it together is a great idea for Valentine’s day.
Date Night In
Seth and I both love a comfy date night in. Once, Seth surprised me with a matching pj’s date night in, filled with snacks and movies. Nothing beats a date dedicated to snuggling and just spending that sweet quality time together. Seth and I are pretty much experts in the date night in department, and we love hitting up the snack aisle and the five dollar Walmart movie bin- yep, keeping it super chill and simple have been some of my favorite times with him, and whoever says matching pj’s isn’t romantic is probably too serious if you ask me 😉
Write It Down
I love that I can collect little notes and hold on to precious letters that mean something to me, and it is so sweet seeing the cards I’ve sent to Seth displayed in his house. Something about putting pen to paper and expressing a heartfelt message for the one you love is super romantic and will mean so much to the one who receives it. Last year for Valentines day, I put slips of folded up paper into a jar with little messages of why I love Seth, quotes that reminded me of us, and sweet song lyrics. The rules were that he could only read one each day, so he would be reminded of my love for him for many days ahead. There are so many similar ways of do something like this, and it was just as fun for me to make it and reminisce in the process.
Something To Display
Last year, Seth framed a picture from our very first date together in 2016. He made it so special by writing our names together with the date underneath, and sharing plans afterwards to put it in our future house together meant so much to me. One of my favorite things about this gift in particular, was that there is room around the picture, so I have been able to add memories around it, like movie date tickets, a small picture of us together at my cousin’s wedding, etc. I have been so inspired by the idea of preserving little things like this under glass, that I want to get a side table with a glass top, or another large frame to add even more mementos as we adventure through life together. Something to display that’s full of memories is a gift your loved one will absolutely cherish!
