Happy Sunday, friends! I can’t believe Valentine’s day is almost here! I think it’s one of the most fun holiday’s to bake during, as you can never have too many sweet treats, and extra chocolate isn’t frowned upon. I love experimenting in the kitchen, and have so many dessert recipes I look forward to trying and sharing with loved ones in the years to come. I have always been one to love creating things, and never realized until the last few years just how much creativity goes into baking. I guess you can say I’ve been hooked since the first time I used a frosting bag- it’s the little things 😉 Today, I wanted to share a few things I can’t live without when it comes to baking, while also scattering some things I don’t have personally, but dream about at night–>I mean how is this cooling rack so adorable? I hope this list of ‘baking essentials’ can help get your creative juices flowing in the kitchen, and inspire you to try some fun new recipes! Happy baking!
I tend to think that the higher priced the pans, the more durable and reliable. These three pieces have proved me so wrong, and have lasted me awhile now! I don’t bake huge amounts at a time, so these are some options for those of us that have smaller spaces and just bake as a hobby. These are great starter pieces when it comes to feeding a small group.
I cringe thinking about the days I would struggle with filling cupcake liners with batter and making a huge mess in the process. Using an ice cream scoop of all things has been a lifesaver in that department, and can even work for scooping up cookie dough, etc. I also love this nut chopper as it takes up little to no space and is easy to use for small recipes. Other things, like this cupcake corer is a must if you want to add a surprise filling to your dessert, and is there even a limit to how many measuring cups/spoons you need? I think not!
I will forever be a lover of the KitchenAid. Is there anything it can’t do?! But others similar to the KitchenAid have caught my eye recently too, and look just as amazing. Here are two I am definitely interested in! If I could have it my way I would never go back to a handheld mixer!
Packaging + Décor
I am a plain jane in the fact that I only like black and white cupcake liners. I will use the black ones for the chocolate cakes, and the white ones for vanilla + other flavors. I just think it makes the cupcakes look more professional that way, but every once in awhile I will mix it up with some color for holidays or special occasions. I also love how many packaging options are available for different desserts these days- makes it so much easier when delivering goodies to friends! My go to’s are this + this– I make cupcakes the most!
There is no better feeling than finishing a beautiful sweet creation! I love snapping pretty pictures for my blog, and dream of having some pretty trays and serving utensils to have on hand for future dinner parties- and when I say “dinner parties”, I mean dessert parties, obvi. 😉
Last But Not Least…
I believe every baking enthusiast needs an apron, preferably a cute one! I have one with cupcakes all over it (naturally), that I am so afraid to use because I don’t want to stain it for life, #TheStruggle – I am going to make it a point to use it starting now though, because worst case scenario, I ruin it and have to buy another cute one! 😉
